Steven Lake, Ed. D.

Dr. Steven Lake is a former educator with over 30 years experience in the public schools. He has been a teacher, elementary and junior high principal, Associate Superintendent, and Superintendent of Schools.

He is the author of several publications. The American Centuries, Parts 1-3, sold in the 1980s, was a bestselling social studies curriculum. Additionally, he wrote Life Compass, a comprehensive curriculum to help Christians identify and live out their life purpose. He is co-creator of Connections, a curriculum that helps church members identify ministry opportunities aligned with their spiritual gifts and areas of interest. Finally, Steve wrote Leadership Launch, a textbook used in Christian junior and senior high school across the country.

Since 1994 Steve has taught in the U.S. and Africa about God's calling. For 10 years he has presented his weekend retreat, Knowing and Living Your Calling, to over 400 men in Charlotte and Raleigh, NC. Twice he also has presented seminars in Angola, Africa. He has additional ministry experience in Zambia, Germany and Honduras.

Steve has 3 degrees from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology a Master of Science in Education specializing in educational administration, and a Doctor of Education degree in educational administration.

James Hyunil Kim

James Kim is a business professional, entrepreneur and youth pastor with over 10 years experience in sales, project management, and consulting. He has direct experience in the educational business sector, as well as teaching experience as a youth pastor.

Currently, James and his wife, Christiana (Chris), are co-owners of two businesses. The first, More Than Scores And Tests, Ltd. (also called More than SAT) provides academic and college preparatory tutoring for high school students. Their other business, College Assistance Plus of Chicago (CAPlus), helps students navigate the college process through biblically-based consumer and decision making principles. Through CAPlus, James has helped students make wise, informed decisions in their college choices.

Previously, James worked as a center director of Chicago for SCORE! Prep of Kaplan, a division of The Washington Post Company. He also worked for DHL Air & Ocean as a senior analyst consulting with key multinational customers. Concurrently, James served 3 years as the full-time, volunteer youth pastor at his church.

James earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Science Program from Northwestern University. This degree program uses an accelerated curriculum to integrate the natural sciences, mathematics, and computer science to solve challenges.
